I Think I Understand now what Auto does Tell Me if I have this Right?

Say I have My Project Set to 1920 X 1080 but My Preview Window is Set to 720 X 480 if I have the Preview Window Drop Down List Set to Auto My 1920 X 1080 Project will be Displayed to Me at 720 X 480?

By "Preview Window is Set to 720 X 480" which numbers are you referring to? The Preview numbers or the Display numbers.

Let Me Ask this way?

Right now My Project Settings are Set to 1920 X 1080 and if I Look Under the Display Window it Says Project 1920 X 1080 and this is Right.

Now I have the Drop Down List at the Top of the Display Window Set to Good Auto.

So if I Look at the Bottom of the Display Window it Says Preview 480 X 720 should this not be 720 X 480?

Doesn't it actually say 480x270 and not 480x720?

And in addition to Eric's screenshots above:

I suspect so, as 480x270 is what I get

On Good/Auto the size you get will probably depend on your pc's capabilities and represents the preview render image size that VMS considers it can handle without losing frames.

Just to add to the conversation - The Preview size is most likely different to the Display size as Preview and Display sizes aren't related. The Display size is the physical pixel size that your preview window occupies on your screen. If you undock the window and drag it out, or in, by a corner you can see the Display size numbers change.

You are Right I have the Display Window Drop Down List Set to Good Auto.

At the Bottom of the Display Window it Says Preview 480 X 270 I am sorry.

If I Understand what is going On the Display Window is Displaying My 1920 X 1080 Project as 480 X 270 am I Right?

If I am Right I do not Understand how Good Auto Selects 480 X 270?

As I said above

On Good/Auto the size you get will probably depend on your pc's capabilities and represents the preview render image size that VMS considers it can handle without losing frames.

It is selected by VMS as the image size it calculates it can render to for preview without dropping frames and giving a rough or stuttering preview. If you select Good Full or Half you should get a higher figure but your playback may not be smooth.
