Thank you for that. I saw the same URL details as well at the checkout. What puzzles me is why there are only two options for payment. Either Mastercard or VIsa. Usually, where large companies are concerned, there is a whole raft of payment choices - including Paypal. I always opt for the latter on sites which I hardly ever use, or have never visited before, as it means not having to give my card information away. Of late, I've seen some very sophisticated scams. Hence my scepticism quotient has risen quite significantly as a result. I might look at this again when I'm feeling less paranoid !!

I would like to investigate POST as it would mean moving away from Adobe AE, if it's a viable alternative, and having something which is integrated with Vegas. That will save a lot of work. For £69, it's an attractive way to find out at a reasonable cost.

I am jealous... everyone getting these wonderful offers to upgrade to Post...

a few years back we bought our rival company sony with the product VEGAS. It all happened in 2015. Since then, VEGAS has belonged to MAGIX. However, the page where you can buy the individual products remains separate. Hence your astonishment about the link.

Now we get to PayPal. PayPal is a company that takes payments from the seller, not from the buyer. This means that the seller has to pay the fees. Because of this, some companies do NOT offer this PayPal purchase option.

You have not addressed my question of whether this POST upgrade offer is actually genuine. Explaining that Magix bought Sony and so it has a separate page, makes no sense. What does this have to do with anything ?? Why would you need a separate page? Do you not have the technical capabilities to incorporate everything into one website?? How difficult is that in 2022 ?? There are thousands of freelance programmers in India who could do it for you. They cost next to nothing and would welcome the work.

As for Paypal, I am well aware of their charges. But, ALL credit card companies make a charge to the seller, NOTHING is for FREE. It's simply a matter of scale. If your company can't afford to pay the Paypal charges, then offer the buyer the option of paying a fee for the facility. They can either accept or not. I would have thought that this would be obvious.

I agree. It's just the usual mindless corporate nonsense which people regurgitate these days. They simply follow a script while having no idea what they're talking about. To imply that the major credit card companies don't make a charge to the seller is completely naive. I like using Paypal, despite their dubious reputation, because it means keeping my card details offline. This appeals to me very miuch.

At the moment, there appears to be a plague of very sophisticated scams out there, and given what's happening in the world, I don't see it getting any better. It's seems prudent to check, even when the offer, like in this case, is not a huge amount. The discount looked attractive, but it also piqued my suspicions to start with.

I began using Vegas at version 7, and like you, I have paid via Paypal many times since hat time for upgrades. Having a different web page and not including this payment method is nonsensical, whichever way you attempt to justify it. The trouble is, I really would like to try the Vegas equivalent to Adobe AE. No Paypal available in the UK !! Seriously !!  I know we left the EU, but we didn't exactly revert to living in mud huts and hunting our food with spears.

Curious as to whether is is a "Vegas" salesperson, or a Magix salesperson that has to handle the many different products they sell.

At the price you listed, I would go for Post. But not for $180USD. I already have VP19 and Hitfilm Pro 2021.3, but considering the "future" upgrade path once FXHome and Vegas Pro separate leaving only Post with integration.

I too don't like leaving my CC info when I don't have to. So PayPal is what I use.

Don't know about that, but my emails to infoservice@magix.net in the last two years or so have been answered by people with German addresses. But don't underestimate Bangkok, the forum's own user-created FAQs come from thereabouts.

Unlike many other urls, the gb url https://www.magix.com/gb/support/customer-service/#c66924 does not list PayPal as a payment method.

Yes, mine too. I admit to being unkindly sarcastic. Wherever they're based, they don't seem to be able to answer a simple question. At no time did they state categorically whether the offer was genuine or not. I'm presumably supposed to interpret this from what they've said. Maybe it's cryptically hidden in the information on the changeover of companies, where only the CEO can tell me ?? Ah well !!
