Problem with Sound Forge v14. At the time of opening it up and try to record, I have error massage: An error occurred during the current operation no devices exist.
Whilst SoundForge is bundled with Vegas it's forum is actually among the Magix product lines and can be found here https://www.magix.info/us/audio-forum/

Posting on the SoundForge forum is preferable to posting here as you are more likely to get a better response.
Allow me to digress. Besides the fact that Soundforge (SF) has its own forum, it has little or no activity hence not many visits from us users. And this thread title is apt; "Problem with Soundforge 14".
Since VEGAS and Samplitude X Pro suites come with SF bundled, it seems relevant for related users to see about its problems, even more convenient if a single thread gathers said issues.
Lets also have in mind that SF 14 (not the 15, latest) is the version actually included in those bundles, so potential customers need to know! without doing forensic forum searches. If anything --for accuracy sake-- it could have an "s" added to its title so it portrays problems. How the Op could have thought there were more than his one problem? Not his fault.
All in all, a good and healthy thread, appropriate blue colored to make the audio distinction for those solely concerned by video themes..

Um...the Audio section of the magix.info forum has considerable activity in regards to SoundForge with upwards of 5 to 10 new threads specifically for SoundForge created on a daily basis.
And, yes, this is off topic in a VEGAS specific forum. I would agree it is a bit of a pain in the neck that these two forums are actually separated like they are, but for now it is what it is. At the very least, this should be in the "Off Topic" area.
But here in the "Off Topic" area you are not likely to get much response whereas posting in the forum I linked to you hopefully will. As VEGASDerek mentioned it has considerable activity.

Confirm an audio sound source is selected in 'Windows' sound settings (Recording' tab), (for instance. Microphone, Line in, Front mic, ect.) Once that is chosen, open Sound Forge and go to "Options> Preferences> Audio> Recording" and select the pertinent audio device type were the audio source exists.
