Problems with Preview

Suddenly the preview window in Sony Vegas is behaving strangely. My pictures look fine on the timeline but when playing, only part of the pictures appear in the preview window with heads chopped off and similar oddities. I am using the Pal widescreen setting which I have used successfully on many previous occasions. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Also, look to see if your preview settings are on BEST Full or Auto.

Thanks, vkmast, you're quite right - the problem sounds the same as I have had before. However, what I can't understand is why this problem should suddenly occur again when I always use the same settings - for most of my projects, everything goes as it should.

I am, as must be clear, a relative novice to Sony Vegas: I would be grateful if you could suggest the settings that might work best for me?
