project file icon and type

I recently purchased and installed Vegas movie studio 16 - I still kept VMS 13 installed because I like the Boris key plugins. When I save a project file in MVS 16 it appears in windows explorer with the same icon as MVS 13 and a 'file type' of Movie Studio Platinum v13.0. As you can imagine, this is going to get very confusing very quickly. Of course, if I try to open a 13 file with 16 it tells me I've got it wrong and vice versa but I would have expected to be able to the difference from the icon in explorer. Is there an option or preference I have failed to spot that would resolve this ?

Thanks

A long version here, post #2.

Thanks j-v, I knew I could do that but it then makes all my mvs 13 projects show up as mvs 16 in the explorer list. So the same problem but in reverse.

Thanks vkmast, I was afraid that might be the case. It would be nice to convert my MVS 13 files to MVS 16 but I can't because of the Boris plugins. So I'll have to put up with guessing which version the vf file is and wait the very long time for MVS to start up just to tell me I've got it wrong again!

Maybe while I'm in this transition phase I'll add a 'V16' somewhere in the file name of a MVS16 project - that'll give me a clue then.

Thanks for your fast responses.

What about installing the Boris key plugins in VMS16?

Hey 3POINT - why didn't I think of that ?! Just copied the Boris plugins from the MVS 13 folders to the MVS 16 folders and that'll do for me. I can now just use MVS 16.

Thank you so much
