If you read their Steam Refund policy they are WRONG and need to refund your money. The 2-hour window ONLY applies to games. Since Magix software is a production (business) application and not game software their 2-hour window would not apply.

This is CLEARLY stated in the 2nd paragraph of their own refund policy which Bruno may wish to reread since he does not understand the very thing he is supporting.

"It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within the required return period, and, in the case of games, if the title has been played for less than two hours."

https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds

Later, down the refund post is a completely CONTRADICTORY statement which makes both statements together at odds. Legally you can not do that as part of the contract and one has to win over the other. Typically it MUST BE the first statement that is the most correct and the later statement is deemed inadmissible and unenforceable since it would negate the first statement. There is no provision in the first part (statement) that that their will be a caveat or abridgement to include the 2nd part. You can not be "for the case of games" AND "games and applications" BOTH in two distinct sections of the contract. This is just dastardly and sketchy as hell!

This would be an example of a self-serving contract that was not written by anyone of legal knowledge because the wording is extremely poor and incongruous to be held together. This IS a contract and it is legally binding by the way! Don't let Bruno tell you any different.

This makes the entirety very suspect and very apt to be ruled in your favor by any judge. You can NOT have your cake and eat it too in a contract sorry STEAM! The law applies to STEAM just like it does to anyone that are not a corporation. They implicitly mention games in the first part but only casually and poorly mention the "and applications" which is directly a contradiction of the IMPLICIT mention of games exclusively of all the other forms of downloads on steam. Heck it even has its own section! TWICE! What sort of two-bit lawyer did they hire here?

"Where Refunds Apply

The Steam refund offer, within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime, applies to games and software applications on the Steam store. Here is an overview of how refunds work with other types of purchases."

Use Paypal as your preferred payment of choice otherwise, or you will get screwed if a vendor steals your money. Paypal can force a vendor to forfeit their ability to be a part of the Paypal payment system if they are using deceitful tactics to keep customers' money illegally. They actually fight for you. No one at your banking institution will fight for you to rightfully get your money back as Paypal will. They have the BEST customer service team I have ever witnessed. Truly Godlike! They also know transaction laws and jurisdictions as they are an international company.

You can take legal action because their 2-hour window is contradictory and not specific to the software you downloaded which has a 14-day window and not 2-hours. Their own refund policy says so very directly. Maybe Bruno needs to learn how to offer support better.

You can take this to small claims court and an injunction will be filed against this company to force them to repay you the money as you are completely in the right to do this. DO NOT put up with big companies trying to steal from you or strong-arm you. They are as applicable in being punished if they steal as you do if you steal. What they are doing is now considered theft. Once a court is involved they will quickly move to refund you the money as a just verdict is very damaging to the reputation of any customer-driven company. No one likes a corporate bully.

Good luck my friend!
