Restored my NB plugins in VP17, but you won't like how I did it.

I was trying to attach this to a previous discussion I was involved in, but couldn't find my original post. If someone points me to that post, I'll move this one.

I use a LOT of NewBlue FX plugins, and upon installing the new version of VP17 (V321) many (most?) of my NB plugins no longer worked. They would either not load when I clicked on them, or if they did load, I would get the dreaded red X on the preview. All of my plugins are legitimate and paid for, and I have the original serial numbers; some were directly from NB; others from Vegas when the NB plugs were given as a premium for upgrading. Going to the NB site was a wasted effort, as after typing in my serial numbers, the site didn't produce the specified plugins.

As excited as I was about the new version of VP17, this loss of the NB filters was a major setback for me. I had many of the plugins grouped as filter packages, and of course, this affected past edit projects, as well as the current one I'm working on. I killed a good part of a day trying to remedy the problem with no luck. I finally got all of my NB plugins to work by doing a Windows system restore. So now, I'm back to the previous version of Vegas, but at least everything is working. Whew! I guess next time I won't be so quick to upgrade. All my past upgrades were largely without incident. Just lucky, I guess.

@Len Kaufman Maybe consider using an imaging program going forward. Windows system restore saved your bacon this time, but not always guaranteed. I've been using “Paragon” for quite some time.

Yes you were in the “General” discussion. When this happens to me I go into my “profile” and view “comments” or “Forum”, that's a back door way to jump back in.

It can happen when commenting on an audio discussion and then on my iPad if I go straight into the Forum, the comment isn’t visible because no “Audio” posts are visible/enabled. Switching to “News” first, then “Forum” does then enable the audio posts.

What NB Plugins do you use?

I still have old NB TotalFX 3, Titler Pro 6 and 7 here, and no issue with latest VP17
