Screen Capture Problem

gcr99 wrote on 11/20/2014, 4:52 PM
I have Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11.
I'm trying to use vidcap60 to capture screen video.
I have Uscreencapture installed.

Problem 1.
When I start screen capture, no video frames are recorded. This is with Uscreencapture in its default settings, just as installed.

Problem 2.
If I open Uscreencapture's settings and adjust any of them, it then crashes and can't be reopened, even by restarting vidcap60 or even by rebooting the PC. To us Uscreencature again, I have to uninstall and then reinstall it.

The same thing happens whether I start vidcap60 on its own, or within Vegas.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Sony vidcap was never designed for that purpose. It is a camcorder tape capture utility.

Let us know if you get it working, OK?

So, why does the capture utility auto-detect my monitors, and ask me which part of the screens to capture?

Any other comments on this please?

Is 'screen capture' really screen capture?

Have you tried to forget about using vidcap60 to capture screen video and use only your Uscreencapture?
I use FBmn Software ScreenRecorder and there are others.

@gcr99, let's start at the beginning.... What video are you trying to capture? From a video camera connected to your PC? If so, how is it connected to the PC? Or are you trying to "capture" video already on the PC or from the 'net?

Once we know where/what the video is, we can help you.

Many thanks for the replies guys.
I followed the link to that other thread and used CamStudio. Job done.
