Seem to be missing features in Vegas Movie Studio 15

Hey everyone. First time writing a post here but I feel like I have to.

I seem to be missing many features in my editor. I just cannot find:

  1. The plug-in to stabilize videos
  2. The option to move videos/pictures when trying to do picture-in-picture.

I have searched for many articles and videos on how to use/find these features and I have found many, but they all don't seem to work for me. Whatever they do in their video/article, doesn't show up/work for me. First I thought that maybe it was something with the version number, but even after watching OFFICIAL Vegas Movie Studio 15 tutorial videos, that are found on the website, I still cannot do it. I decided to use the Help articles that are found on the program, and even after finding a section about "Stabilizing video clips", and following the instructions, I still cannot. I cannot find, what the article tells me to find. It says to right click the video in the Project Media and choose Media FX but that doesn't show up. I am guessing that it just means Video FX, but even there, there is not a Stabilize effect.

Same with moving pictures/videos in picture-in-picture mode. Apparently, I am supposed to click Track FX on the Video Track and that should show up a whole "location" tab, where I can move everything clearly. That doesn't show up for me too!

What am I doing wrong? I am so angry and confused. This does not make any sense. Please, someone, help me! If you need any screenshots, of what the articles/videos say and what I actually see, to more easily understand what is going on, then please do ask! Thank you very much.

Which is your actual version of Vegas Movie Studio 15? The basic Movie Studio or Movie Studio 15 Platinum, which offers many more features, or Movie Studio 15 Suite, which is Platinum with some 3rd-party extras.

The version comparison table: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-movie-studio/product-comparison/#productMenu

The Basic Movie Studio, and after looking at the version comparison, I see that the Basic does not have picture-in-picture or video stabilization. I feel stupid now, but at the same time not. Stabilization is a feature that is shown on their website on a list that is clearly labelled for just the basic Movie Studio plus it is even shown on the Basic Movie Studio help page. How can this be so incorrect and misinformative?

Anyway, thank you for the help.

@MrSmartyPants I agree. The MS 15 product pages info on the features is partly misleading.

Besides the mentioned "Advanced image stabilization" and PiPs, also the Tiny Planet plug-in is not currently included. The video shows it being used in MS Platinum, AutoLooks as well, but that one is included. Many of the tutorial videos on the MS 15 page are from MS 14 Platinum including the one on Multicamera, which the comparison table shows is not included. Studying that table and using the free trial before buying are definitely recommended.

If you purchased from Magix, you might consider this and get the Platinum version instead.
