Hello everyone.
I am using Vegas Studio 14 right now. I am thinking about upgrading to 17 but I am not sure it is worth it.
Here is my computer setup:
AMD Ryzen 2700
32 Gb RAM
NVidia GTX970 with **4 Gb** of ram
My video cards seems to meet the requirements but as some of you might remember, the last 512Mb of ram on that card is not directly linked with the main memory bank, and we used cause the card to basically stall.
Would that be an issue in Vegas 17? Have they tested it with that card?
Assuming it would work, what kind of rendering improvement can I expect? For some reason I cannot understand, Vegas 14 doesn't max out my CPU when rendering. It usually uses between 65 and 90% of the processing power. My hard drives don't seems to be maxed out either.
The other issue I have with Vegas 14 is that it crashes quite a lot and doesn't have an automatic save every X minutes. So it has made me waste a lot of time in the past few months either crashing when I was working or crashing while rendering. Has this been fixed?
Would be nice to have a comparative chart of all the improvement from the 13 to 17 and see the benefits of upgrading.
