Sony Vegas 17 crashes whenever I click Render As

OzimekPL wrote on 5/30/2020, 7:17 AM

I was doing some editing as usual, and I was ready for rendering. But whenever I click Render As it crashes.
I tried a lot of things, disabling multi-core something (I forgot the name), disabling SO4, just usual stuff with fixing render
issues, and nothing worked. I even tested if it would render like 5 second video. And it didn't. (I also have bad PC)

Here are some details:

Fault Process Details
   Process Path:        C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0\vegas170.exe

Which version of Windows OS are you using? (Btw, it is not "Sony Vegas".)

Windows 8.1

The VEGAS Pro system requirements: "Operating system: Microsoft® Windows 10 (64-bit)".

Please check the System requirements from the product pages before you purchase or at least test with the free trial.

This bug was fixed in more recent builds. Also, it's just VEGAS Pro now, Sony isn't affiliated with it anymore.

We may need to wait and see if the OP is able to update his VP 17.

I have this with latest v16 too, after the latest 400-something update. The rendering template I used previously crashes the program, with a cryptic error message. So I used a different template, of the ones that come with it. Following some issues I did an uninstall and a fresh installation so apparently lost my old templates, but it's ok.

One just has to play around with it to get it to work.

This has been the case since the very beginning and I would be surprised if more than 75% of the rendering drivers included with any version of Vegas actually work in any reasonably wide range of applications.

I'll try to update, I will later tell if it worked or not.

Based on my experience, you will have to upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10

I updated Vegas to this 400-something build, but it didn't work. I guess I need to upgrade Windows :/

@OzimekPL It may not be a total loss. Open both versions and try copying your Timeline Events from 17 to 14.
