Sony Vegas Pro 13 keeps slowing down

Keneagle wrote on 7/12/2019, 3:15 AM

Hello everyone!

I've been using Sony Vegas Pro 13 for a while. It has been working nicely, however it suddenly started slowing down. Within preview a simple fade out/in is almost impossible to watch (it is basically a standing image) Restarting both the program and the computer has not solved the problem. The content of the Temp folder is the right size (3,08 Mb). I've tried loading it in Pro 15, but it is still slow. Any ideas?

Thank You for your answer. Here are the details:

VEGAS Version: Vegas Pro 13.0 (Build: 453) 64bit

Operation system: Windows 10 Pro (64bit) Version: 1809

Video: AMD Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics

16 GB of RAM

Source: Digitalized VHS Tape (720x576, 25 fps)

Delivery Destination: WMV files for Private Usage (720x576, 25 fps)

I browsed several forum pages, watched numerous YouTube videos, tried basically all the recommended solutions, but nothing has changed. The problem is that the program, which has been functioning perfectly for the past few weeks, has suddenly gone terribly slow. The main issue is with the transitions (basic audio/video fade in/out). The moving images become standing images. Many frames disappear (as shown in the picture).

Many times, the untouched parts also lag, you can hear the voice, but the picture does not move.

You could at least try resetting if you haven't yet. Follow the steps in the instructions closely.

@Keneagle You're obviously not actually putting "Digitalized VHS Tapes" onto your timeline. How were they captured and give us the media info of the files they were saved to i.e.your source files. This would help considerably. Were the same type of files working okay previously?

@vkmast I tried to reset, unfortunately it didn't work.

@EricLNZ I digitalize every VHS tapes with MovieMill digit. program, I've been working with same mpg files for months.

Maybe better to download and install the latest version of VPro 13 from your Magix account. You have build

VEGAS Version: Vegas Pro 13.0 (Build: 453) 64bit

and this is the latest

@j-v you may remember some users preferred to stay with the last Sony/SCS build #453 rather than the build #545, which was the last Magix rebranded one.

Sorry can't rember , but what I still know is that I did not love version 13 as I did with the totally new 12.😉

The mistery is solved. The second half of the source file was faulty. I captured it again and now it works! Thank for you All.
