Sony Vegas Will Not Open!

Hi, I've been using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11 for quite some time now on my Windows 8 computer, and today, when I go to open Vegas, it won't open. All it will do is acknowledge that I clicked the button, but nothing more. I restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas, and visited the forums, but I've found no solution. Please help!

Have you tried launching the program while holding down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys on the LEFT side of your keyboard to clear any corrupt preferences?

You may also want to run a registry cleaner like CCleaner or Easycleaner.

I had this same issue with Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. I have Windows 8.1. For no reason I could figure out, it wouldn't open. The loading screen would come up and the bar would go to full and then freeze. I tried the CTRL+SHIFT suggestion, and that made the loading bar freeze at half way. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and that still didn't fix it.

What DID fix it makes no sense. I did a system restore on my computer. I don't know why that worked, and it really shouldn't have because the system restore was only for changes i made today but I was experiencing the problem since yesterday.
