Studio 16 Platinum fails to download, fails to install.

I purchased a disc copy, but my laptop lacks a disc drive. When I try to install the program from either the website download or a mounted disc image, the installation download insists (for over a month now) on hanging. Windows 10 kept updated, the firewall is disabled, UAC is turned off, the installer has been run as an admin, and twice I've cleared the registry of any Vegas or Magix values. I can install everything EXCEPT Studio 16- everything else connects, installs, and works just fine. The problem is NOT with my system.

Meanwhile the service center page has been useless. The Studio 16, Platinum, and Pro FAQs are completely blank, and there has been no interaction available with actual support. I've seemingly given my money to Magix for a vaporware fraud.

Just wondering. You purchased a "disc" for installation, but yet do not have one in your laptop? Exactly how is that Magix's fault? Inquiring minds want to know.

a vaporware fraud.

Obviously it's not such as the majority of others don't experience your problem. To find what is causing your problem first a few questions.

  1. You say your laptop lacks a disc drive then indicate you have tried installing from a mounted disc image. How do you do this without an optical drive?
  2. You say everything else apart from Studio 16 downloads and installs. Which items are those?
  3. Are you trying to download from a link provided to you in a Magix email confirming your purchase? If so is the link to the Download Manager.
  4. Are you using Windows Defender?

Have you tried the forum FAQs such as this and this? (Most suggestions apply to VMSP as well.) Check also the System requirements.
