Text effects presets or plugins

I am not very impressed with Vegas Studio Platinum 13's text presets (Legacy text presets or Sony Titles & Text presets) and would like some that are more professional looking. I know that many things can be created with the animate options but I am looking for some (free or to purchase) that I don't have to design myself. I have found many that can be downloaded and added to Vegas Pro 13 but so far I haven't found any for Sony Platinum.

Can someone tell me if any exist or where I can find some?

Thank you!

So you want professional looking titles that you don't have to design yourself?

What title effects in particular would you like? Can you post a link to a YouTube video that includes these effects? Words like "more professional" are pretty relative and could mean practically anything from 3D animations to effects like fire and fog to -- well, pretty much anything you see in a Hollywood movie (including plain vanilla text).

I can't promise there's a free or cheap plug-in out there that will make your titles look like Saul Bass created them, but there are a number of powerful tools out there -- including NewBlue's excellent Titler Pro, a version of which was bundled with Vegas Pro and Movie Studio Platinum for a while.

I will look for some links when I can. But I can tell you I am just looking for simple, 2d, clean, professional looking text intros that I don't have to design but can just change the text.

Titler Pro did not come with my Movie Studio Plat.

I am considering upgrading to Vegas Pro. Will it come with that?

TY!

>>>[i]I am considering upgrading to Vegas Pro. Will it come with that?[/]<<<

See this site's Online Store (Purchase > Upgrades, click Upgrade to Vegas Pro 13 to Movie Studio). You'll see the current upgrade offer and Other Recommended Items including NewBlue Titler Pro 4.
Search the Vegas Pro forum for discussions re that plugin in VPro 13.

You might also want to check proDAD Heroglyph titling options. They offer a free trial.

There are oodles and oodles of free and paid for animated text capable for use in Movie Studio available online. I prefer making my own with a few of my own recipes.

But, I'd like to point out these free lower thirds for example that also have videos on how to use them in Sony editing software.

For example:

http://www.movietools.info/lower-thirds/corporate-lower-thirds.html

http://www.movietools.info/lower-thirds/themed-lower-thirds.html

And for the tutorial how to apply them:

http://www.movietools.info/tutorials/sony-vegas/item/sony-vegas-tutorial-lower-thirds.html

I know you weren't asking specifically for lower thirds, but this is just a little sample of what's available online with a wise search engine search.

Also check out Bill Myers' excellent tutorials on You Tube such as:

With just this bit of basic knowledge you'll be able to build some wonderful text animations as long as you're creative and motivated.

But, without knowing what exactly you want to do with your text and as Steve wrote, not knowing what you mean by 'professional' - That's the best start I can suggest for now.

Making some PNG, JPG or GIF files with some other application and pulling them in over your clips can also provide some cool results. You can use whatever fonts you have on your system and even use handwriting images, text created from objects... .

Meh, maybe it just seems easy to me.

NewBlue Titler EX should have come with Platinum 13???

Are you sure you downloaded and installed everything?

According to the Product pages on this site you get the NewBlueFX 3D Titling and Video Effects only if you buy the Movie Studio 13 Suite package.

+1 for vkmast. It would also be less expensive to update to Movie Studio 13 Suite than Pro.

The OP can download a trial of Titler, but note that EX is lacking several features. The OP can search the forum for a list of the key differences (such as the lack of an 'undo').

IF you are not looking for titlers, but are just happy with more fonts, note that all fonts do not necessarily work e.g. in Titles & Text.
