Text Media Not Displaying in Preview Window

I have used Sony Vegas and Movie Studio Platinum 12 product successfully for years but currently have lost the ability to see the generated Text Media in the Preview Window. I can insert customized text for titles on the Text timeline but they are not showing up in the preview window. Any idea if i have accidentally changed a setting? The text opacity is set to 100%. I reinstalled my software and still have the same issue? Any ideas?

Have you tried all the media generators or only one?

Have you tried more than one font?

Have you ensured that the playhead is OVER the title on your timeline?

have tried multiple fonts = yes
text timeline is top row = yes
text media is over the playhead = yes

tried all of the media generators ... no. Have only used "Insert Text" from menu bar or by right-clicking on Text timeline

You didn't accidentally mute the text track by pressing "Z" or the Mute button on the track header? Or muted the text event by right-clicking on the event and selecting Switches > Mute?

No .. the track is normal just like the video overlay, video, voice and music tracks below it. I clicked 'mute' and the track turns grey. I checked the Switches and 'mute' isn't checked either.

Normally i would be able to see some or all of the text showing inside the checkered text media event on the timeline as well as see the text appear when the trackhead passes through the text event. Now I just see the text 'checkered' event on the timeline with the normal Event Pan/Crop, Event FX and Generated Media icons on it. Also, I remember when I would select the Generated Media icon, the text showing on the preview screen would allow me to move it around. Now I just see the video or images and not any of my text / captions / titles.

I'm at home now and looking at my Movie Studio Platinum Plus program. Yes, many of the Media Generators work. The Default "Sample Text" doesn't work, no matter what font I select. Some of the animated ones work after I choose a different font than what was there by default.

Hey .. Legacy Text seems to work .. if I can get it to move around the screen where i need it.

Be sure to use one of the two last builds of MSP 12 (i.e. 895/896 or 1183/1184).
There were some Titles&Text plugin bugs in the earlier builds.
Check also your Scale/Location settings.
You don't see "text showing inside the checkered text media event on the timeline" if your Scale setting is too small.

The (Legacy) Text plugin has the Placement tab and the Animate option.

Downloading the latest build fixed the problem. Whew!
Many thanks everyone!
