Timecode display gone in V17/353

Just as it says above, my timecode suddenly disappeared though I don't exactly know when this happened to figure out what I had done to make. I am using the Vegas Timecode utility and as far as I can see nothing is different in the settings from what I have been always been using. Can someone please help me by suggesting where I should look to display the code numbers again?

I have the plugin fx box (green) checked, all the listings under "View", checked any item I could find in Help associated with the words Install, Display, Timecode and View, searched this forum and more which I can't recall just now. I have restarted my computer... everything I can think of except for reloading the software which is maybe what I should do but before doing that I have decided to post the issue here.

Not sure if you checked this but just to rule out something: Point 1?

So that's where the squirrel was! I got the time code back by selecting Left Half. Never knew to look there so thanks for answering me. I think you've helped me several times before and wish I could pay you back by answering your question but that's never going to happen. Best,

Paul

@Paul-Fierlinger you don't want to bypass video FX for either half of the preview. Uncheck the Split Screen View button (with FX Bypassed in the drop-down menu).

I was actually going to come here with another question. When I opened a second project I am working on it was showing a maxed out size timecode and I can't find where to get rid of it. So now I tried using the setting Select Right Half setting and that made it disappear as does FX bypassed. But when I turn on Select Left Hand it shows the huge timecode with my new small one superimposed over it. So I am completely confused . When I uncheck the split screen button my new small time code disappears but the large one remains. I need to find a way to get rid of that one first. Any ideas?

MORE: I am working with Legacy Text and have discovered that the big fat timecode read out is on that clip only.

I'm going to work on this some more and get back to you.

The problem had to do with Legacy Text, not Vegas directly, but

@ Vegas Developers: Please don't drop this plugin -- I love its simplicity and being an ancient I would have to learn a new text plugin and don't feel like doing that at 84. After I die I'll let you know that I don't care anymore.

@ vkmast: I followed your last instruction and all is well now. Many thanks for your patience.
