Transfering Ownership

Gave a friend in Nigeria access to older version of Vegas Pro.
Sony cut him off after a year or two. saying he doesn't own it.
Something I'd overlooked.
How do I transfer ownership, so he can resume using this NLE?

Have you tried contacting Sony's Customer Service about deactivating your copy of the program and reactivating it for someone else?
