Upgrades are basically (you buy) new versions. Updates, on the other hand, are patches to the same version. Click on the My Account then My Software above to see if there is a newer "build" than what you have.

Dave,

Movie Studio is now on V12. Version changes 10 to 11 or 10 to 12 are paid upgrades. What build of V10 are you using? There may be an update (which is free).

In the top menu, click My Account>My Software. You will see links to the latest download. Build 179 may be the last build for that version.

I have 179. Will all my work transfer to 12? I hope a newer version will solve my rendering problem that I have indicated in my other post

in reference to your "other post", in which you did not follow up with any answers,

WHAT RENDERING PROBLEM?
WHAT SYSTEM SPECS?
WHAT QUICKTIME VERSION?
WHAT RENDER PROPERTIES?

HOW DO YOU POSSIBLY EXPECT MAGICAL ANSWERS WITHOUT PROVIDING THE BARE ESSENCE OF REQUESTED INFORMATION?????????

yes your projects will open in version 12.
you are also welcome to download the trial version of 12 and get your answer that way. I hope you see the irony in your choice of responses. Best of luck.
;?)

The other post. Vegas Movie Studio HD crashing while rendering.

dave,
instead of ranting all over the place, it might have been wiser to continue in your original thread.
As others have told you in that other thread, you do need to give us all the specs (incl. ram) musicvid10 (again) lists above.
E.g. some of these things should be checked.
