Upgrade from imagination studio v3 to Vegas 13 + 14 suite; question

Teagan wrote on 1/25/2017, 7:45 AM

I have imagination studio v3 which has vegas movie studio hd platinum 11 and dvd architect 5 and I'm planning to upgrade to vegas movie studio 13 suite (that includes v14 because of an upgrade offer) but I saw that the v13 has the same version of dvd architect (5) that I have now. Does v14 have a different version? I really want version 7 as the trial was excellent.

VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum: Sneak peek leaks only this:

New DVD Architect Studio templates

I would not be sure that it's the same DVD Architect 7 you've been trying as Movie Studio Platinums have previously come bundled with DVD A Studio, not Pro like Vegas Pro. Note that the site lists DVD A 7 currently at ~ $/€ 100. Still, the current offer is a bargain anyway.

I have an upgrade offer that expires tomorrow, I believe, for this first one and the rest seem to last longer.

"VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Suite - Upgrade + Vegas Movie Studio 14 Suite" for $99.95

and

"VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Platinum" for $39.00

and

"VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Suite" for $59.99

and

"VEGAS Pro 14 Suite" for $349.99

Should I get the first one and gamble if DVDA 7 is in there or the $39.99 one (upgrade from 11) and DVDA 7 for $99.99?

I've had the worst time trying to figure out which versions of DVDA are in each bundle as they somehow never tell you except in the oddest places.

Since you asked, I'd get the first one if I needed the extras or the VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Platinum
+ Following February 2017 release: VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum
for $ 59.95. I'd assume that the DVD A S version there will not be too restricted a version. Of course if you think you will be needing the Pro features that's it then. Note that in the current Platinums I can't render as AC-3 Pro, only AC-3 Studio, although I have DVD A Pro 6. OTOH and AFAIK, DVD A 7 dropped the AC-3 Pro option anyway...

I don't see the Vegas 13 Platinum + Vegas 14 Platinum for $59.99 on their site nor in my upgrade offers. Can you tell me where you got that from? And does "suite" include what the platinum or pro includes?

I'm only looking for a better vegas editor (from 11) and dvd architect (from 5) in this. I don't use all the extra features of suite but if it's cheaper and includes better versions of the two programs I want, I'll probably get it.

I don't need AC-3 Pro, I only need the least for DVD audio, which I assume AC-3 studio will do fine. I can always load it into v5 if the save file is compatible and encode the audio, there, if needed. (v7 accepted my v5 save and encoded it better and without errors, but that's backwards compatible, not forwards).

See our host Nick Hope's link here. The opening page has the options, see blue line.

You find the product comparison table links from this page, blue lines again.

Great! Can I "take a five minute break" now, "for a cup of cold coffee and a piece of cake?" (Just got a Matthew&Son flashback and kidding)

Teagan wrote on 1/25/2017, 10:47 AM

Yes. I've ordered. Physical copy for 5$ extra. Thanks for your help. I think that's all I need help with!

I just got the email for the free vegas 14 platinum and the DVD architect version is 7.0.0.54 and it's great!

What a tremendous deal!
