Upgrading to an Older Version?

Mal-B wrote on 1/31/2026, 5:36 AM

I have the old Vegas Pro 15 version of the software. I'm not interested in getting the newest version of Vegas Pro unless I have to. Is there a way to use other old versions of Vegas Pro? I know how to download older versions, but as far as I know, you need a license to actually use these older versions, but I don't know how to get one, or if it's possible. What are my options?

If by "upgrading to an older version" you mean legit VP versions 16 to 22, you may find some of those still available at Steam as "Steam Editions".

Please note also "Sony Vegas vs. VEGAS".

You might find a user willing to sell their license for an older version.

Please note the Support FAQ on transferring license:

I'd monitor Humble Bundle. They had a sale for Vegas not too long ago for $45.
