Vegas 11 32 crashes at Asio Driver Asio digidesign

Vegas 11 x64 is working fine, but I can't seem to get the latest version of Vegas 11 32 bit (424) to start. It crashes every time I try to start it. Vegas 10e 32 bit still runs fine. The original version of 11 32 bit worked as well. As Vegas starts it displays all the things it's loading, plug in factory etc but when it gets to this line it stops every time...

Asio Driver Asio Digidesign Driver...

I'm pretty sure that driver is used for my Avid Media Composer 5.52 software but I can't quite seem to locate it so I can move it or uninstall it to see if that's the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm also having problems with the current 32-bit version crashing. On my original system, everything ran fine. I recently upgraded some hardware (new motherboard, processor and RAM) and kept the original drive. I'm using the same sound card and driver (M-Audio Delta 1010LT). The system is stable, and everything operates normally and is recognized in device manager. All drivers are correct and current.

On startup, I get basically the same thing as you're experiencing. I can watch the load process, and when it gets to M-Audio ASIO, it hangs for about 20 seconds and crashes. If I disable the soundcard in device manager, the program starts and runs normally. I can also reenable the soundcard once Vegas has started, and Vegas will continue to function for that session (but Vegas apparently isn't aware of the M-Audio card's existence.)

On a side note, I experimented with a site called Soluto. With their software loaded, Vegas would crash once, but if I tried to load it a second time, it would run normally. I don't know what it was that they are doing, but somehow they were able to force whatever's wrong to work. I have since uninstalled Soluto, and the problem returned.

While disabling the soundcard in device manager serves as a workaround for the moment (I also have sound on the motherboard), I don't especially like having to go through the extra steps every time I want to start Vegas. I've tried looking into this, but so far your post is the first evidence I've seen that anybody else is having the same problem.

As to the ASIO, I also hunted around a bit for the driver. It may possibly be part of the driver software for your soundcard. It also may have come with your Avid software (I use Adobe Audition). I reinstalled the latest version of my sound card drivers, and it made no difference.

I don't know whether any of this is useful to you, but maybe it will give you an idea for something else to try.

It's probably a typo in your original post . . . the most current version of Vegas 11 32-bit is Build 594.

Ok, straining my feeble memory here, I did fix this issue a while back, I haven't had that problem since probably a week or so after I posted this. Should have gone back then and posted the fix. but since no one responded I kind of forgot about it. If I recall correctly, there was an asio plugin that I had installed in Vegas 10 that was crashing 11 (32 bit only). I moved all the stuff out of one of my asio folders, and I was able to run Vegas, one by one adding back the plugins until I found the culprit. This method has been suggested on this forum many times. What I can't recall is what plugin it was, I'm pretty sure I know what it is but I am hesitant to mention it in case I'm wrong. Don't want to be accused of making wild accusations and all. Anyway, thanks for responding and hope this points you in the right direction.

My bad. I was multi-tasking and didn't read carefully enough. I mentioned it in case an update to 594 would actually cure the problem.
