Did you render an audio only file?

Proud owner of Sony Vegas Pro 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 and now Magix VP15&16.

System Spec.:
Motherboard: ASUS X299 Prime-A

Ram: G.Skill 4x8GB DDR4 2666 XMP

CPU: i7-9800x @ 4.6GHz (custom water cooling system)
GPU: 1x AMD Vega Pro Frontier Edition (water cooled)

I went "render as" then xd cam mp4...I didn't see a template anywhere...

the player says "movies and tv"

It could be that that player can't play XDCAM EX mp4 files.
Sorry but "movies and tv" means nothing to me. Most of us on here are using either VLC or Media Player Classic Home Cinema as video players. Both are free so google them.

BTW, XDCAM EX gives 12 different render options.
Since you want mp4, I'd use one of the internet presets found under the MainConcept AVC/AAC render option.

Use the vertical scroll bar and double-click headings (or click the arrow buttons) to find the lists of available templates Mike refers to.
