Vegas 15 Shift+M: annoying and irritating

HDJames wrote on 2/27/2018, 2:26 AM

Why do I have to press several times to Selectively Prerender Video in Vegas 15?

Vegas 13, Vegas 14: no problem, rendering started right away after Shift+M but someone changed that in Vegas 15. Why on earth did someone change that?

Developers work ON software, we work WITH that software: I'm afraid  the developers don't realise that this new behaviour in Vegas 15 makes no sense and is extremely irritating..

Although I own version 15, I won't use this version until this 'Progress' has been removed.

...we used to say: K.I.S.S. keep it simple, stupid....

For me, it works the same way in VP15 as it did in previous versions; rendering never started immediately after pressing SHIFT-M. Are you sure you don't mean SHIFT-B? Please explain what exactly are these several extra presses that you now have to do.

Vegas 13: Shift+M > "Enter" button .Prerender starts

Vegas 15:Shift+M > "Enter" button activates "Render Options" but prerender does not start.. I have to go with the mouse cursor to Render to prerender.

I do a lot of prerender and want to use the keyboard as much as possible, but in version 15 they changed the simple possibility for reasons I don't understand.

Ah, I see what you mean. I agree that it would be better if ENTER activated "Render" and not "Render Options". You can press TAB twice then ENTER without using the mouse.

I see this same (stupid) behavior also in Vegas Movie Studio.

??? No solution here: the only thing that happens is "Render Options" switch on and off.

Did you use this tab key?

If you have Contour Shuttle controller, you could create a macro that does the keystrokes with only one button.

I think this is probably an oversight in VP15, and that there's a good chance we could get it changed.

I would agree with that. Just an oversight. This should be an easy fix. I will get it into our backlog.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Sorry; I took a wrong key.

Glad to see this might be fixed in a next update.

Thanks for your help.
