Vegas 19 Upgrade offer

CLP wrote on 9/2/2021, 3:07 AM

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've searched everywhere on the site and I can't find anywhere else that I can actually contact you to discuss this issue!

I upgraded from desktop vetas 18 to 19 on Aug 19th. the upgrade offer included Boris FX Primatte Studio, which I really don't need, but it was the only addon offered. today I fired up Vegas 18 to edit an older file and the vegas 19 upgrade offer appeared, same price, but now ALSO includes Boris FX Title Studio, which I WOULD use. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't just wait a couple weeks to make my purchase.

is there any way that I can also receive the TItle Studio software? if not, can I return my upgrade, and repurchase?

Thank you for your consideration.

The confusion continues:

@VegasMarketing:
1.) Who can tell us what is true here now?????

2.) How long can FX Primatte Studio / or Title Studio be used as part of the subscription?

I would also be very interested in Boris FX Title Studio - and would consider buying it in this case.

In this offer, BorisFX Title Studio is not a replacement for Primatte Studio; rather, Title Studio is a bonus extra over-and-above the base Edit, Pro and Post products (of which Primatte is still part of the base subscription packages for Pro and Post). If you look at the purchase options on the comparison page that walter-i. has referenced above under 'Choose a payment plan:', you'll see that Title Studio is an extra for the stated limited time for subscription, new purchase and upgrade purchases.

There's nothing new with this - limited time bonus offers are regularly offered by Vegas. For a history of those offers over time, please see https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-price-watch--109642/?page=8

Re getting a refund, you'll have to contact MAGIX Sales about that. No-one on this peer-to-peer forum is able to act on behalf of MAGIX.

It says that this offer is for "Boris FX Continuum 2020 Title Studio", which is interesting because I had Title Studio version 2020.5 prior to loading Primatte Studio, but the install routine removed it. To get it back, I had to upgrade to the latest version. Maybe the folks at Boris have removed the limitation on running multiple Unit versions concurrently?

Ah, ok. I hope this doesn't end up creating any pain for new buyers, i.e., only being able to install one or the other of the two plugins. Maybe Magix/Boris figured it out so it will work smoothly. I definitely recommend Boris Title Studio, which works great in VP 19!

@Photo_G I am in the process of "rebuilding" Win10 on another drive with a fresh install of everything. It's in the same computer where I have Vegas and Boris installed. The only difference is, it's on another drive.

Guess what did not install.... boris..... in the same computer as it is initially installed.

Hm, maybe it needs to be reactivated on the new drive. Does the Boris FX Application Manager provide any insight...maybe in the BCC.log on the Diagnostics tab?

Reyfox wrote on 9/4/2021, 9:38 AM

Oh, I can use it on the other drive, after I deactivate it on the current drive it's activated on.

I have the same problem , I buy it to soon I think now 9 day's later its with Boris Title for free, I contact Magix sales but the can not do anything for me, anyone have an idea what to do ?

Reyfox wrote on 9/13/2021, 6:36 AM

@Cameraman1955 not sure there is anything that can be done. We buy something and then a while later, a newer "version" appears. Oh well, that's how it goes. Maybe ask for a refund and then buy again?

There has to be a "cut off" for everything. People have come here asking for "something" that came with later on with various dates and times. We have a choice. Wait and see what might come down the road, or take what we have already and use it. It's a tough choice. But I do think Boris Titler offers what Vegas sorely lacks. A real title program.

@Reyfox Yes you are right, I was abit disappointed that first buyers who have trust in this software not get an commercial decision. But ok nothing to do about it.

Reyfox wrote on 9/13/2021, 9:21 AM

@Cameraman1955 the first buyers got Boris Primatte, yes? I understand if you do not do green screen work (I don't), and if I had a choice, I'd opt for the title program, but it is what it is....

I myself have the full Boris Continuum so don't have to worry about what VEGAS is offering unless it's coming from NewBlueFX or another OFX plugin from Sapphire.

@Cameraman1955 you must have bought the Edit. With Pro, it does come with it. But, they might have offered an "incentive" to buy when you bought, but I don't know what it would be. @vkmast would know more.

@Reyfox is probably right about your purchase option (Edit). No "incentives" if you bought before September..

Cameraman1955 wrote on 9/13/2021, 1:13 PM

@vkmast @Reyfox Yes thats right I have the edit version before September, so I was to early.
