I just installed a new PC running Windows 11 (latest update - 25/02/2023) and Vegas Pro 20 (build 326). The same issue also happened in a previous Vegas version I tested (v19).
I have an M-Audio Air 192/14 interface and an Elgato Facecam.
To replicate the error:
- Open Vegas Pro and create new project
- File > Vegas Capture
- Facecam shows up correctly and all inputs/outputs of the M-Audio interface, however, the audio meter inputs don't work. If I press record and try to import I get "Could not parse VEGAS Capture file"
- Close Vegas Capture and Vegas Pro crashes.
- Reopen Vegas and Capture doesn't open anymore. Close the window, re-open, now the camera doesn't show any video stream.
Interestingly, if I open 2 Vegas Capture windows (is this normal functionality or a bug?), the audio interface works (but not the camera). And occasionally, if I keep closing and re-opening, I can make it work with camera and audio display meters, but I can't import to the project as I still get the "could not parse" message.
Vegas CAPTURE seems very buggy and if this hasn't been fixed since the old versions. For a new user this is very frustrating, I might consider cancelling my subscription if there is no solution. Vegas Pro is useless for me if I can't import stuff quickly (I can still use OBS Studio with no issues but it's an extra step I don't want to take). Hope this can be solved.
