Vegas Movie Studio 14 Ruler Not Running

Hi there, I have a copy of Vegas Movie studio 14 that I don't use that often. However recently when I have been editing with it. The Ruler and the time counter will not run in real time with the video/audio. It will play, however it remains at 0:00 or wherever I happen to have it placed at the moment. I have tried doing some research and I haven''t turned up anything.

 

What made me submit the ticket though, is when i right click on the timer in the bottom right that shows the location of the ruler or click into it. It will run, I am hoping that this is just a setting somewhere. Any advice?

What are your settings of the timeline here?

Cannot replicate. If rebooting didn't help and the software "is [still] behaving strangely you can try resetting it to the default settings".
