Vegas Movie Studio HD 9.0 License Expired

Hi. I purchased Vegas Studio HD 9.0 a few years back and wanted to get this setup on a new machine of mine to work through a slideshow/movie for my wedding. Unfortunately, after installing I'm getting a "your product license has expired, expiration date 10/11/2015" error when I know I bought and registered this item in 2017, and cannot get it to load.. I've reached out to support via email but received no response. I've read the forums and saw some notes about the regedit fixes, but they did not fix the issue.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom or ideas on how to fix this issue?

As you've posted on the Vegas forum, are you absolutely sure that your program is 'Vegas Movie Studio' or 'Vegas Movie Studio Platinum'? But these products have never had 'HD' as part of their product name as far as I am aware. Also Vegas Movie Studio 9 was released under Sony ownership in early 2009 and would only have been available from Sony until version 10 was released which was about 1 year later (so 2010).

Maybe you've actually got a similarly named (but without 'Vegas' naming) video editor released by MAGIX. If so, the MAGIX video forum is at https://www.magix.info/us/video-forum/

In any event, you'll probably need to wait for Support to get back to you because its unlikely that a user forum would be able to solve a licencing problem occurring in MAGIX's activation system.

This might be the case: "Older versions of Vegas Pro [and Movie Studio] than 14.0 are licensed under a system (as previously used by Sony) which permits use on multiple computers by one user; after an unspecified number of installations on different or updated PCs you may need to contact support to reset your "installation count"." (From this FAG item 9.)

Try Online Live Chat (advice here).

@Dexcon actually there's still currently an ebay seller offering "Vegas Movie Studio HD Version 9" (with a screengrab of the Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 9 package).

Thank you vkmast. I'm located in the US and haven't been awake thus far when the online chat is available, but i'll keep looking. I've tried the "send email" option too but it's been about 3 days with no response (i'll be patient and wait a little longer). It's likely I ran into the issue of being installed on too many PC's over time. I think my only option is to wait for support to get in touch with me.

@Dexcon, vkmast is correct, this version does exist. I have the product serial number with this title and the original CD that is called Vegas Movie Studio HD. I believe I bought it from Best Buy back in the day.

Maybe it's time for upgrading! New PC works best with new software.
