Vegas Pro 14 Build 270 64-bit crashes on startup

fastpager200 wrote on 6/28/2019, 9:33 AM

I'm not sure if this goes here, but I seriously need help. For the past several days, despite it working perfectly fine the day before this started happening, every time I try and open Vegas, the progress bar finishes and gets to "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing..." then stops and the problem reporter opens. I uninstalled and reinstalled and as you can guess have turned my computer off and on again many times since and I can't find anything on Google about this problem. I am using Windows 10 on a Lenovo IdeaCentre 310S-08ASR desktop computer.

What is the exact text of the problem reporter, show here what the opened file says through a screenshot uploaded to this forum by the button above your comment screen.
Because it was earlier no problem something has to be changed on your computer, Windows update, driver update or something else.
You can maybe try a reset to a restore point all was going well .

You could try resetting to default settings first. Follow (exactly) the steps in this post.

Note also that you'll get several thread links if you search (Find...) "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing" on this forum, such as this one.

No idea how, but this worked. Thank you!

...Well, it seems I may have spoke too soon. When it automatically opens after resetting it works fine but opening it normally causes the crash.

I found something similar.
When I reset Vegas 14, than it starts with all GPU possibilities ( off, NVidia Corporation and Intel(R) Corporation) visible and to choose.
If I do nothing or choose something, but the second time after the reset starting the program than it starts without any GPU option (GPU off and nothing available)), while in my VPro 15 and 16 there I see not the same. Problably it it something with VPro 14 and the used GPU setting/drivers.
During use of 14 I remember problems with newer drivers of the NVidia GPU.
Which GPU do you have?
