Vegas Pro 15 is lagging - ADDENDUM

Duvale-Murchison wrote on 4/12/2021, 1:34 PM

I am editing 4k video, multi tracks (3) and the lagging is drving me crazy. I noticed that when I click play on a single video, single track, it DOES NOT lag at all. Does anyone have any idea why my software is lagging in multitrack editing/playback and NOT in single track playback? UUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!!

Thank you!

Hello,

I've clicked the link but nothing happens. Am I supposed to be directed to an answer or our chain of chat/messages? Thank you

1. Did you tried to use for the multitrack files Proxys?
2. Do you use the latest drivers for your Graphic Processors, for the Nvidia the 461.92 and for the Intel 630 the 27.20.100.9316?

@Duvale-Murchison I advised potential responders to use this one thread only.

Thank you gentlemen! I did everything you suggested up to and including uninstalling then reinstalling Vegas yet the problems continue....I supposed my next costly step will be to upgrade. Perhaps that will do it. Anyone else have these issues?

Have you seen and followed @j-v`s questions?

I'm reaching out to ask if you have any advice on how I can1) stop Vegas Pro 15 from lagging when I'm editing with 4K 24fps files and 2) why won't Vegas take my MOV files?

I have changed my preview to "draft", changed Dynamic RAM Preview max to 0 and my Enable Multi Stream Render is set to TRUE -- it still lags.

Importing MOV files -- I get an error message when I attempt to import them. My solution is to convert ALL of my files to MP4 -- I shouldn't have to do that. I have Vegas Pro 15 on my laptop and never have to convert any video files.

I use an OMEN HP Desktop 875 -- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU@ 3.2 GHz -- 16 GB RAM and GE Force RTX 2070 SUPER Graphics Card.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Lets figure out what your mov files are (is that the only type of file you are using?) Please cut and paste the Media Info using this program: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

Can you show a screenshot of your preferences/file i o tab?

Is the hard drive you are using fast enough to handle multiple 4K streams at once?

Yes, I am only using Mp4 files. I have to convert the MOV to Mp4 for Vegas to recognize them. Talk about a major hassle. Is this what you are looking for ?

Go to MediaInfo on "View / Tree Structure" and copy the whole content here
