Vegas Pro 16 "Major Update" Download Crawl Abort Restart Crawl Abort

So I've been trying to get the Vegas Pro 16 "Major Program Update" Download to work for days now. Why does the download stop? Why does the download crawl? I'm on a 49 Mbps download speed internet connection. Walk away, come back: it's halted. Try to restart from Check Updates: won't restart - have to close then reopen program. Can't stop program during download: download stops too. Why isn't the download available directly from Magix website product support page as well as from within the program? Is this Magix typical?

Running Vegas Pro 16 Edit Build 352, Windows 10 Professional, Microsoft Surface Pro 6.

Also, when it has to be restarted, why does the download start over from zero instead of remembering where it left off?!

(It's possible there may be server issues as some of the forum functions have not been working as expected recently.)
