It worked fine last week, but now I get this error: LoadLibrary failed with error 126. The specified module could not be found. I click ok and it quits. Using Windows 10 on a Dell PC
Assuming you have tried usual PC fixes, restart, cold boot, system restore.
- a repair install of VP - uninstall > reinstall VP - uninstall VP with a third-party uninstaller which can clean pertinent leftover data the OS uninstall leaves behind,.. then reinstall
copy or note the customizations and preferences you wish to keep prior to uninstall
Just did 3rd clean install, but still fails to open with same error LoadLibrary failed with error 126. The specified module could not be found. I will try to contact Magix tech support if it exists.
I tried some additional fixes Tech Support sent to no avail. They suggested I download the trial version of VP18 to see if that worked. I did and it does work. Out of curiosity I tried my version 16 again and now it works as well! Go figure! Thanks to all for your help. Now I have to decide if vs 18 is worth the upgrade or not.

VP18 is the way to go if you get on Ok with the trial version ie it works without to much crashing on your system. So far I am not having any significant issues, it is faster than V17 & V16, uses the GPU more and has the full 8 bit display in the preview window.
Vegas Pro 18 was working fine last week, but today when I launched it I got the same error msg as before: "LoadLibrary failed with error 126. The specified module could not be found." I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it still won't open. Windows 10, Dell XPS 8920.
Looking on the internet many replies talk about a graphics issue with OpenCL/GL and advice to update the graphics driver. What GPU are you using? AND what version of driver is installed? Also many users reported a fix by doing the following (atio6axx.dll is an AMD OpenCL/GL driver)
1. Go to the command prompt as described above. Run it as administrator.
2. Type in the following command: C:\Windows\System32\ copy atio6axx.dll .dll
I downloaded Adobe Premiere Elements Trial and got the same error msg. Found a fix for Premiere which was to disable the Intel graphics driver. Premiere then opened normally. AND SO DID VEGAS! I then re-enabled the graphics driver and so far it still works. So the ultimate solution seems to be to get a better graphics card!
Bad graphics drivers can cause all kinds of misery. I was getting system crashes and thought Vegas was terrible until I loaded up a 3d benchmark and the same crash happened.
