Vegas Pro 17.0 - Not responding (can't open saved projects)

My program was working fine until upgrade Vegas edit 17 pop-up started opening up when i begin to use my program.

Only movement is frame count shows 0 when opening a new or saved file, click on screen then screen turn grey.

it then shows 0 with periods going on after. Looks like this on frame count (see below)

0 0. 0.. 0... 0.... 0..... 0...... 0 0. 0.. 0... 0.... 0..... 0...... 0 0. (Pattern goes on and on until screen goes grey)

Sony help desk seems to be too aloof to try to help, I have numerous emails from helpdesk to no avail.

All this from a computer bought 4 months ago (new)

Processor    11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz  
Installed RAM    16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

 

Vegas (multiple versions) have historically let me down and crashing is part of my editing routine but not letting me open a saved project is the worst thing to a human's imagination. I'm being forced to turn down projects because I cant edit them.

 

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE?

"Sony help desk" does not have anything to do with this MAGIX VEGAS software since v.13. VEGAS Support starts from the upper bar at the top of this page. Advice here.

"If it worked before", at least try resetting following closely the instructions.

Thanks for the advice however it still doesnt work. I can open a project but screen crashes when i click the mouse
