Vegas pro 17 - Problem since build 452 - Crash viewing mov or mp4

cremonensis78 wrote on 7/28/2020, 9:06 AM

Last time that Vegas worked ok was using build 421 (during may).

Yesterday Vegas asked to uptade to build 452 and since I can't open older project or import mov or mp4.

I can only import audio or listen to it.

The 1rs think that I will like to do is to re-install the build 421 and see if the problem is the recent build, but I can't find if that is possible (?)

I installed another video app and it works fine (DaVinci Resolve).

Thank you,

Thank you. I updated the original post since build number error, and added few details.

Not sure what details you added, but they aren't the ones required to help you.

Hi VegasDerek,

Well since Vegas Pro 17 (build 421) was working fine on my Windows 10 system until that I updated to build 452, the first thing that I would like to know it is if I can find the build 421(?).
To verify if my PC system is the problem, or if it is the use of build 452.

Thank you,
RW

Your graphic device is really old. So how about when you turn off GPU acceleration in Options/Preferences/Video?

Hi Marco,

I already tried it with no change.

Thank you,

I am having this same issue. PLEASE just tell us how to get build 421, so we can continue with our work. This update has completed killed my ability to do any video editing!

Chris-Tilton,

Thanks to share, that may help to put finger on something.

Thank you for this. Didn't know this resource existed. I was scouring the main magix site. For Pro software, I feel previous builds should always be officially available.

Chief24,
Luckily I got to read the forum post.
So, build 421 works as expected here.
Thank you very much for your time.

PS: I remembered why I got bored of being active and helpful many years ago on so many forums: Steinberg Cubase, UAD, RME, EMU, Lutherie, etc….

The VEGAS Pro changelog (with links to download pages) is also on this forum: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-release-history--104998/

(Linked in the pinned main FAQ section 6.)

Thanks @vkmast! I just knew where to find the various builds on Derek's site a lot faster. I'll pin that "link" for my use now at this forum, as we know "there will be others".
