VEGAS Pro 19 Bundle

sukhoi wrote on 12/18/2023, 6:14 PM

Hello people! I'm new to this community.

I'm writing this because I found out that there is a Bundle in a well known and legit webpage where they offer VEGAS Pro 19 and more. I would like to ask if you have any idea if that's safe/reliable, because I took some time to read some posts on Reddit and to watch a couple of YouTube videos and everything seems to be legit and safe.

Anyways, some feedback from you guys would be a great help because I don't even know if they give you a permanent license.

Thank you.

I clarify that I didn't put the name of the page since I don't know if it is allowed to put names of other pages here, but I reiterate that it is a legitimate and legal software purchase page.

@sukhoi re that offer, please see this comment

Permanent ("perpetual") licenses.

Hello vkmast! I hope you are doing well. Thank you for answering this fast. Ohhh I see...

I want to mention that above your comment there was another one talking about a Bundle coming from the exact same page I didn't want to mention before.

I'm talking about "Humble". From what I have read (I could be wrong), the money raised there goes to charity, so I am honestly interested in purchasing VEGAS Pro on that page, first because it is much more accessible and second because helping charity sounds great. Do you have any idea about that bundle? I can give you the link if you are interested.

vkmast wrote on 12/18/2023, 6:52 PM

@sukhoi in addition to the general info about the bundle that page also gives details about the items included (click on the product images).

And welcome to the forum!

Oh that's great! I didn't notice it before. Anyways, I won't lie to you, I don't feel very confident about going for that Bundle... my reasons are that I still don't understand what benefit Magix gets by allowing Humble to sell one of its licenses 10 times cheaper than what it costs on the official website. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me if you know what the trick is. Thank you again vkmast <3

Magix doesn't sell VEGAS Pro 19 on its website.

Think of it as a form of marketing to get new users to try VEGAS Pro. VEGAS Movie Studio used to serve this role but is discontinued as a VEGAS product.

Dexcon wrote on 12/18/2023, 7:18 PM

I'll hazard a guess that the making a 2 versions old Vegas Pro version available on Humble Bundle is treated by MAGIX as sort of a loss-leader on the basis that those who buy Vegas Pro from Humble Bundle may update sooner or later to the current version of Vegas Pro and may continue updating or subscribing over the coming years.

Oh that makes sense. Seems like a valid reason then! Do you have any idea if that version from Bumble is a single payment and permanent? I'm also wondering if it's necessary to have another previous version to be able to use it (I hope not).

RogerS wrote on 12/18/2023, 7:41 PM

It's open to new users so it's permanent and not an "upgrade."

sukhoi wrote on 12/18/2023, 7:47 PM

Awesome RogerS! Thank you all 3 guys for giving me a hand with this, much appreciated <3

Only 5% of your payment goes to charity, no matter how much you choose to pay. If you click on "Adjust Donation" (before you click "Checkout") you can increase that to 15%, taking a little off Magix' and Humble's share.

sukhoi wrote on 12/18/2023, 11:39 PM

Ohhh my bad, I didn't know that. But Nick, thank you very much for telling me that, it's very good to know.

After all I guess I'm paying for that Bundle, I guess it's a very good opportunity!

NickHope wrote on 12/20/2023, 11:26 PM

I see the offer has been extended for a few days, and I also just noticed the "Custom Amount" slider, where you can adjust the shares. Humble always get at least 30%, but you can give the whole other 70% to the charity, if you want.

Hey Nick! I ended up purchasing the exact same Bundle in Fanatical. The main reason was that I couldn't find any review video of the Humble bundle on YouTube, but I did find quite a few about Fanatical (it may sound like a stupid reason but at that moment it made me trust more in Fanatic). Anyway, I'm happy because everything is working well for the moment, and also grateful to you and the guys for taking the time to respond. <3

@sukhoi, I bought the HB Vegas 14 Edit bundle years ago. I personally never considered Vegas because of ugly, confusing looking interface. But I bought the bundle for $25 out of curiosity. After 2 weeks of using VP14, I bought VP15 Suite. I was amazed how fast I could do basic editing on the timeline. But before I bought VP15, I lurked in the forum, reading the posts and replies. I found the people there were friendly, helpful, and most importantly, honest about Vegas pros and cons.

I've bought every version since, and hope that in the coming year, that Vegas will continue to improve and be a strong competitor in the editing software world.

Oh, and I was able to upgrade from VP14 and not have to purchase it as the "New" price once I registered VP14.
