Vegas pro 19 : no real-time view of video effect modification

Gerald-Chevalier wrote on 11/28/2022, 6:07 AM

When I change a parameter of a video effect on a clip, I don’t see the result until I close the pop-up of the effect. So it is quite impossible to use video effect. It worked before I tried to solve performance issues. For that, I updated my Nvidia GPU driver and created proxy files. I don’t know if it can be linked… I have vegas pro 19 build 643 and a NVidia GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop with driver version 526.98. My system is based on win 11 and CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS with 32 Go RAM.

Isn't there an AMD IGPU? What's its driver version?

On my laptop I see the same on VPro 19 and Vpro 20. An added effect only becomes visible in the preview screen after closing the FX window.
After a long search it turned out to be caused by the latest Nvidia Studio driver nr. 526.98. Reinstalling the penultimate driver no. 522.30 resolves the problem.
The strange thing is that this only happens on my laptop from my signature and that the latest driver can be used on my desktop.

Well bravo!
It's great that you figured it out.

Thank you J-V. Which CPU do you have on your desktop and your laptop ?

So.... How do I do that ?

Odd. I don't see this on my laptop running 526.98 either. I checked with 19 and 20 using preview mode and both media and event Fx. Laptop is a GTX 1050 and desktop is RTX 2080 Super.

Do you use the default settings at Video and File I/O?
When I switch in both the used Graphic Processor I also don't see this.
I see it with the newest Nvidia driverversion and default settings for Video (Nvidia) and File I/O (Intel).

Yes. Default is NVIDIA for Video and Intel for File i/o decoding on both systems.

Very strange, 1080Ti and driver 526.98 no issue with any of the FX updating the preview window while open, tried levels, brightness and contrast, planet, swirl, any I've tried. File I/O is NVDEC on 1080TI. (V20-214) I will try it on V19. Yes no issue with V19-643.
