Vegas Pro 19 not opening

Cmin7669 wrote on 11/22/2021, 6:49 PM

Anybody had this issue?

Vegas from time to time refusing to open (launch) when clicked.

Any other application opens as it should including Vegas Effects and Vegas Image.

I have to reboot my machine to open Vegas Pro 19 and it will open normally for a while (a few days) then once again it will not open.

All drivers are up to date.

Not with Vegas Pro, but occasionally with other programmes most notably with Outlook for some years. The latest update to MS Office seems to have fixed the issue thankfully. Failure to open also occurs from time-to-time with Sound Forge Pro, and has occurred in the past with Corel PaintShop Pro. I suspect that the problem is more a Windows issue rather than with the programmes themselves.

Instead of rebooting the computer, try going to the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+DEL) next time the failure to open occurs. Under the Processes tab, if a VEGAS Pro entry appears under 'Apps' or 'Background Processes', highlight it and hit the End Task button. Sometimes, there might be more than one entry that will need ending. I've found that using this method enables the programmes to then open normally without having to reboot.

If this works for you, at least it will make the process quicker and easier of getting around the failure to open problem.

Yeah well , no that does not work either, the problem is not windows, it's Vegas. Using Ctrl Alt Del does not work because Vegas is not shown even though I have clicked it to open.

It only hapens with Vegas!!!

Have you tried contacting VEGAS technical support? If so do you have a ticket number that we can try looking up?

Something may be keeping Vegas from closing cleanly and then it can't re-open. A plugin, perhaps?

Yes to no avail.

No idea, but don't really have any plugins apart from Boris Title Studio and primatte.

Not the same issue as the old posts in this thread. Yes you have to update now to avoid this problem. At least updates are free
