Vegas Pro 20 vs Vegas Pro 18

VEGAS Pro 20 vs VEGAS Pro 18

I’m unsure if a post like this has been posted, if so, please feel free to direct me to it, if not, then please read below.

Quite a while back I purchased VEGAS Pro 15, then later VEGAS Pro 18. I did see some decent additions in VP18 vs VP15. However, I have been thinking about purchasing VEGAS Pro 20. I’ve tried to look on YouTube to see if anyone has posted a comparison between VP20 vs VP18. Given that VP20 is quite new, it might be obvious why there are no direct comparisons yet.

Nevertheless, if anyone can provide a decent comparison of VP20 vs VP18, even just a text-based comparison, I’d be quite appreciative of that. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give!

The majority of the improvements center around VEGAS Hub (online collaboration added ,along with text to speech and speech to text), AI powered effects (upscale, scene detection, arbitrary style transfer), and color grading panel improvements (range limited color wheels, white balance controls, hue vs. hue color curves, etc)... though this is not all of the new features added.

Thanks guys, for your help! I appreciate it. 👍

To be honest, I have actually been, very much considering, upgrading from VEGAS Pro 18 to VEGAS Post 20, as I know I would use the extra programs that come included with that.

Just keep in mind some of the new features that are online services (online collaboration/project sharing, phone to timeline, voice to text, text to voice, audio and video clip library to use in projects) require the subscription, the perpetual license includes everything but that.

Thank you for that clarification. However, I am aware of the differences between the 365 subscription and perpetual versions VEGAS Pro. Nevertheless, thank you 👍. I have thought about going the sub route, but I tend to prefer one-off payment perpetual software than subscriptions.

On that note, though, do you think, like Adobe, that MAGIX will ever just make VEGAS Pro subscription-only and do way with the perpetual version of VEGAS pro?

No worries! I try to make sure everyone knows that until they can get a new subscription plan out for perpetual license holders that doesn't require them to buy a full VEGAS Pro 365 subscription to access those features (they're working on it).

I understand. Well, that is good to know that they’re working on it. As some of those sub-only features would be helpful to have for perpetual license software users, like myself. Thanks for that. 👍
