Vegas Pro annual subscription question

faschimi wrote on 12/15/2025, 12:53 PM

Hello there,
Last year I purchased an annual license for VEGAS Pro Suite. I’m very happy with the software and would like to renew my subscription. Under my current contract, the renewal price is listed as BRL 660.00. But new customers are currently being offered a promotional price of BRL 588.00 for "Winter Sale".

I’d like to know if I can renew my license using the current promotional price, and with that still be entitled to the version upgrade, since when I bought it last year the current version was 22, and now it’s 23.

I also need to know if, by using the current promotional price, I can continue using VEGAS Pro version 22 as part of the subscription. I’m asking because I use the software on my employer’s computer, and their software‑update policy is very bureaucratic. The IT department would need to homologate VEGAS Pro 23 before I can use the update, and that process usually takes more than a month. So if I’m able to keep using VEGAS Pro 22 with the annual subscription for version 23, that would give me enough time to request the homologation of the new version.

I’ve been trying to reach support for several days with no response. I’ve already opened tickets #2025120817001796 and #2025121117002234, but I haven’t received any email contact from the support team. Please, I have a lot of work ahead and I really need the software active and fully available..

Thank you, and I look forward to your guidance.

Does anyone have any advice on this? I don’t understand why the support team can’t respond to this!

This is not an answer to your question.
But why didn't you buy a lifetime license? Then you wouldn't need to upgrade every year (at a reduced price).

When your subscription ends, so does the use of that particular version. Yes, the subscription price is usually better than the perpetual, but, you don't have to worry about losing Vegas if you decide not to renew.

If you renew your subscription, you will be prompted to update to VP23 when you start VP22.

@vkmast might be able to point you in the right direction.

But will I be “required” to upgrade to VP23? Or will be able to keep using VP22 for a while?
I chose the subscription because the price was better, but I really wouldn’t want the version upgrade to be mandatory, considering the IT requirements I mentioned earlier.

If section II. (Special provisions for software subscriptions) in https://www.magix.com/int/terms-and-conditions/ (dated October 2025) does not help, try emailing infoservice@magix.net

Thanks @vkmast, but I’ve carefully read through all the Terms and Conditions, including the section on software subscriptions, and unfortunately they don’t clearly answer any of the questions I’ve been trying to get clarified. Nothing in the document specifies whether I can continue using VEGAS Pro 22 with a subscription for version 23, whether upgrading to VP23 is mandatory, or whether I’m allowed to purchase a new subscription at the promotional price instead of renewing my current one. None of these points are addressed directly.
I’ve already sent several emails over the past few days to infoservice@magix.net and shop@magix.net, but no one has replied. That’s why I’m asking for guidance here in the forum, to see if anyone has been through a similar situation, because I just can’t understand why support doesn’t even bother to reply to a single email.

AFAIK, you can use v22 (or other subscription version) for as long as your subscription is paid up and updating to the 'current' version is not mandatory. I prefer to use v22 instead of v23 at this point.

We are a user forum so are not in a position to answer on behalf of Magix on subscription options. If you bought an annual subscription then after it expires you loose the right to continue to use the product. as you would be a previous not new customer I expect you would not be able to renew at new customer promotional prices.

As an existing customer you may be able to renew or purchase a lifetime licence at a discount but that is up to Magix.

V22 is the most stable version so far, V23 has been released but as you can see by searching this forum is a work in progress and may unlikely be successful in a homologation process by an employers IT department as it is not yet a matured version (an update is due out this month I believe to address known issues). This is only my view and others may disagree.

Yes, I’m not expecting people here in the forum to answer on Magix’s behalf, I’m just trying to understand what options I have based on other users’ experiences, because I was surprised that the renewal price is higher than the price of a brand‑new subscription. I assumed the subscription would be more advantageous than the perpetual license since it includes frequent updates, as long as a major version upgrade wasn’t “forced” by the software manufacturer. Because of the complete lack of response from the support team, I guess I’ll have to go with renewing the license at the price they’ve set.

@faschimi "I assumed the subscription would be more advantageous than the perpetual license since it includes frequent updates, as long as a major version upgrade wasn’t “forced” by the software manufacturer."

With regard to the frequency and obligatoriness of updates and upgrades, the situation is the same for both perpetual and subscription licences. Free updates will be released for a version of VEGAS Pro until the release of a new version (with exceptional updates after that if there's a big issue that needs to be corrected); then is up to you if you want to upgrade. The differences are that

1) with a subscription you can upgrade for free to the new version if your subscription is active at the time; with a perpetual licence you'll have to pay for the upgrade if you want it.

2) with a subscription you loose access to any version of VEGAS when your subscription expires; with perpetual you can keep using the version for which you purchased the licence for as long as your OS supports it (or until Magix as a company dissapears).

Hi everyone,
First of all, I sincerely apologize for bringing this subject back to the forum. I understand this is not an official support channel, and I truly don’t want to inconvenience anyone here.

Unfortunately, I’ve been trying to reach MAGIX/VEGAS support for more than a month, but every e‑mail I send is answered only by the automated bot, and I’m never connected to a human support representative. Because of that, I’m completely stuck and unable to solve the problem through the official channels.

My issue is simple: my VEGAS Pro subscription became blocked right after I updated my payment information on December 23rd. This is not a technical or software activation problem, it’s an account/subscription issue on the MAGIX side that I cannot fix on my own.

If any moderator, VEGAS staff member, or anyone with internal access could kindly forward this to the right support team, I would be extremely grateful. I truly depend on VEGAS for my work, and I’m out of options until I can reach a real support agent.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help or offer guidance.
