VEGAS Pro17 Suite can't sign in

YOSUKE-HIGUCHI wrote on 1/9/2026, 5:42 AM

The post from @YOSUKE-HIGUCHI translated:

"Hey everyone,

I really need help. I can't activate my Vegas software and I'm totally stuck.

It seems that I registered the product with the wrong email address when I first purchased it, so the license doesn't appear in my current account and I can't complete the activation process.

I have already tried to contact official support several times, but unfortunately I have not received any response.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Or knows how to resolve activation issues caused by an incorrect registration email?

Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.

thank you."

There have been many posts about this. In most cases you will need Magix support to solve the problem.

Do you have the confirmation email from Magix? How did you activate it with a serial number the first time? All that information is contained in the original email sent to you after you've purchased VP17 Suite along with all the other serial numbers for DVD Architect, Boris FX Sapphire Render Unit, Continuum Lights Unit, Key and Blend Unit, and 3D Objects Unit.

Log into your old email account and the serial number is there. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Vegas Pro on the same computer that it was registered on without any issues. Now, if you moved to a new computer, you will need the email/serial number.

I'm a bit confused (nothing unusual there) but why did you not go to your existing MAGIX account to purchase Vegas Pro 23? If you used a wrong email address, you would have to have created a brand new MAGIX account to make the purchase.

As the forum is a user-to-user forum, no-one on the forum, not even the moderators (who are not MAGIX employees) will be able to swap the wrong email address to the correct email address. This can only be done by VEGAS support. In the meantime, one thing that you might consider doing is to purchase Vegas Pro 23 again using your correct MAGIX account and hope that MAGIX will cancel and refund you - on your request - the earlier incorrect purchase price. No guarantees on that point though.

Thank you for your reply.
I would like to explain the details of my situation.

I purchased VEGAS Pro 17 in 2020 and installed it at that time. However, it is possible that I mistakenly registered the product using an incorrect email address during the registration process.

In Japan, VEGAS products are officially sold through an authorized distributor called Sourcenext, and I purchased my license through this distributor. When I try to activate the software using my MAGIX account, I receive a message indicating that the serial number is already associated with another user.

My request is to have the relevant serial number temporarily deactivated or released on the MAGIX side, so that I can re-register and activate it using a new MAGIX account. Unfortunately, despite contacting support multiple times, I have not received any response for over a year.

This software is very important to me, as it includes DVD and Blu-ray authoring applications. Comparable alternatives from other companies are extremely limited and expensive (with Adobe Encore being one of the few exceptions), which puts me in a very difficult position.

I would sincerely appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

It is unclear whether a different email address was used at the time of the initial registration, and even after reviewing my email history, there is no record related to this product.

I have attempted to log in to several MAGIX accounts that I may have used in the past; however, none of them show any registered products. Additionally, even when I try to register the product again as a new registration, the system only displays a message indicating that the serial number is already “in use.”

I have been contacting MAGIX support regarding this issue, but unfortunately, I have not received any response at all.

I understand that this product may already be out of official support, so that may be the reason. However, I would still appreciate at least some kind of reply or guidance.

At this point, I have completely run out of options on my end. That is why I am posting here on the forum, hoping to get advice or information from knowledgeable users who may have experienced a similar situation or know a possible solution.

Do you have your "sales receipt"? How would you provide proof that you actually purchased the product?

I have attempted to log in to several MAGIX accounts that I may have used in the past ...

Why so many MAGIX accounts? ... unless of course you've regularly changed email accounts. I had to change my email account a couple of years ago because the original ISP email account failed - it was an unmitigated disaster. Fortunately, the original ISP recovered the original account about 5 weeks later.

Notwithstanding, it's a good idea to keep a database (e.g. Excel or the like) to keep a record of all the email accounts and products registered to those accounts along with passwords etc. If hacking is a concern, do the same in a hand-written notebook.

Of course, I do have proof of purchase, and I have already sent it to the official support. However, I have not received any response whatsoever.

I would like to clarify that I do not intentionally maintain multiple accounts.
The issue is that I am no longer sure which email address was originally used to register VEGAS, and I have been trying to identify it.

Once this issue is resolved, I intend to use only a single main MAGIX account going forward.

Reyfox wrote on 1/10/2026, 2:24 PM

Unless it is a "paper receipt", looking at my confirmation email from Magix (or any other online purchase), it also includes the email address that it is sent to, which is "me".

I do hope you get this fixed soon. Lots of users mentioned how slow Magix is in responding.

My guess is that the only solution is going to be Magix obtaining an e-mail address from you and associating it with a new Magix account for V17. It should not matter that V17 is no longer available to buy now. Hopefully one of the Vegas staff who appear regularly on this forum maybe able to help you contact Magix support staff.

If this was me. I would say forget that VP17 as it is very out of date software and about DVD authoring tool? it is absoleted. MP4 is the new stanadard. Wait for the Sale promotion of VP23 and you can take advantage of the latest and supports for new hardware. If you buy fairly new hardware, VP17 can not take the meaningful use of it. Buy new VP and register to your Magix account, you will be safe for all of your future need. Just my opinion.
