Vegas Project not burning.....

When I am in Architect, I have always, "prepared", then "burned" the file. When burning, the screen shows visual progress, and I USED to hear the drive burning away. NOW, though.... it is not burning onto the DVD, but onto the hardrive. Is there a setting that I have missed for it to recognize the CD/DVD Burner?? THe burner does work on other applications. Thanks for any further diagnosis. MUCH appreciated

First, follow the prompts from Make DVD to make sure you're following the Burn path rather than than the Prepared Files path.

Then, on the final screen, make sure your disc drive is selected as the Burn destination.

If that's all okay, can you tell us more about what you're doing, step by step, so we can figure out where it's going wrong?

Ok Steve, I went through the process and documented the steps. it would be better and easier if I could communicate this using screen shots, but this forum does not allow such. Anyway.... In Archetect (which is version 4.5), I go through the "Prepare" function from the "Make DVD" selection. After that, I click on the "Burn" feature. I believe I see where my issue is now, thanks to your guidence. After choosing "next" at the "select Prepare Folder" screen, the "Select Burn Parameters" screen appears. In this screeen, specifically the "Device" filed, my drop down options to choose from only has the "ISO Image Writer", and not any direction or option for my DVD bruner drive (E). Where do I or how do I allow the burner to be an option to choose?
Feel we are getting close.
Thank you.

It looks like the program isn't seeing your DVD drive.

There could be a couple of reasons. If you upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit from another operating system, it could be that the driver isn't compatible.

Or it could be that a program like Nero is blocking all other programs from access to the burner drive.

Or it could be that your drive is starting to malfunction.

But it's hard to say without having your computer here to troubleshoot. You got any ideas?

Just a thought...see what checking Options > Preferences > General tab option "Skip Drive Database; Auto-detect Drive Capabilities" does (if anything).
