Vegas Studio - Marking Project media as used

Legacy_Media wrote on 11/15/2017, 10:13 AM

Hello,

Please forgive me in advance if the answer to my question is posted somewhere, I have had no luck finding it. I am using Movie Studio 14 and have a lot of media in the Project Media (bin). Is there a way to know which scene(s) have already been added to the timeline? For example other software I have previously used would put a small dot or indicator on the thumbnail of the media that was already being used on the timeline. If this can be done, where do you enable/disable this feature?

Thank you for your help!

In MS 14 Platinum, at least, click Ctrl+A to select all. Then right-click on an event and from the opening menu Select in Project Media list. That should show the added "scene(s)". You could then use tags. See online Help Tagging media files (under Using the Project media window).

Yes, straightforward and much quicker.

It would still be useful to have an indication on the thumbnail. VMS is the only video editor I've encountered that doesn't.

Thank you all for the responses. I did miss the "use count" and that is very helpful. I would have to say that an actual indicator on the thumbnail would be nice too though.... can't have everything though right haha
