When I use the Explorer tab to search media to use in a SMS 12 project using AVCHD or JPG files, I see only graphics icons and the file number. It would be much more helpful to see a thumbnail of the first frame or else of the still shot. Is there any way to enable one to do this? Windows 8 certainly allows one to see thumbnails when browsing with the file finder or Windows Explorer.
Another question: is there any way to select a number of clips or stills simultaneously to send to the timeline? Or must one check each file, play it in the preview screen one by one, and then drag each file, again one by one? This is especially cumbersome if one can't even see what the files contain in the explorer field.
The Project Media tab allows one to see what files a project is employing, but is this really any more useful than looking at the timeline itself? If a project is using hundreds of files, I can imagine that the media window would be rather cluttered anyway. It might be better to have checkmarks in the explorer window that designate which files are on a timeline or not. Is that possible?
