Video Preview

I just purchased this product, Vegas Movie Studio 15, I'm new to this. I added the videos that I want to edit but when I view them in the preview screen it lags. The video does not run smoothly, almost like the speed has been cut. How do I fix this, is anyone on here in the Durham, NC area?

A number of things you can try to improve the smoothness of your preview, mostly applicable to VMS as well, in this FAQ:

I tried all those. It seems more like a conflict issue as even two basic clips drag when moving from one to the other. This problem doesnt arise in Movie Studio 14 oddly.
