Video Preview Window not accessible

Hi,

I have just today purchased Movie Studio Platinum 13.0 and have hit a show stopper on my first project.

After trying a sample project in Simple Edit Mode guided by the 'show me how' overview, I was confident that I had enough idea to get going, so started a new project and switched off 'show me how'.

I went in to 'Add Media' and successfully added a number of video clips and still images, which resulted in the 'Windows Docking Area' being maximised. This completely removed the 'Video Preview Window' from view and I can find no way to restore it, no matter what I try.

I switched on the 'show me how' overview again and that now hits the same problem when it tries to highlight the 'Video Preview Window' and resorts to a hand pointing to the right hand edge of the screen with the message "Please drag this splitter to make more room for the windows. You may need to resize the main application window or other windows to be able to move the splitter".

Dragging the splitter does nothing and resizing windows makes no difference either.

Really starting to wonder if I have just wasted my money buying this product!!!!

I am running Windows 10 Home Edition 64 Bit, Version 1607 on an Acer Aspire T3-710 Desktopwith Intel i7-6700 processor and 16 GB of RAM.

Can anyone suggest what I could try to resolve this fundamental problem?

Thanks

Bill.

Go to Advanced Edit Mode.

Thank You.

Whilst it may seem obvious to an experienced user, it isn't to a newbie deciding to stick with 'Simple Edit' initially until they are more familiar with the product.

Agreed.
