Video track of the timeline does not show in the preview window

Kristen-Rekdal wrote on 8/31/2022, 4:29 PM

I have just updated Vegas Pro v19.0 to build 643.
Then I have added a video clip to the timeline and now there is a problem.
The video track of the video on the timeline does not show in the preview window.
The sound track of the video on the timeline plays OK.
Why? Have I missed something?
I have ensured that the video track is not muted on the timeline, and the Mute All Video of the Options menu is not checked.
How can I get the video track to become previewed again?

A couple of threads that may or may not help in your issue here and here. You might also try resetting as suggested in the latter thread.

Dexcon: The Preview window tab is selected OK, so that's not the problem🙂

vkmast: Thank you for the references 'here' and 'here'. Apparently they addressed the same problem as mine.
I tried resetting according to the described procedure, but no change.
I tried updating the GPU drivers, but Windows update refused to cooperate.
Then by a hunch I did resetting once more, and lo and behold, now everything seems OK!!😯😁😂
My favorite theory to explain this course of events is that there is a little leprechaun inside my computer playing tricks on me😄

Anyway thanks to everybody for all good suggestions, I am now a happy man again😄

@Kristen-Rekdal thanks for confirming that you found a solution. Btw, when resetting users sometimes may not follow exactly the instructions in points 2 to 5 and the program won't be reset then.
