VP21 - Crash on program opening French v. / English OK

Hello,
Yesterday I purchased the latest version of Sony Vegas Pro 21.0 (build 187). However, when I open the program, the software window opens for 3 seconds, then crashes immediately afterwards.

I've tried updating my graphics drivers, launching the program in Administrator mode, but nothing seems to work.

If anyone has a solution, I'm interested.

Thanks, but after testing things you list there, it doesn't seem to work, even after trying several times to download the software.

It always crashes in the same point.

This is what I can see before crashing.

Like we normally does, by clicking on the icon. I have also tested to launch it with Admin mode.

I have reinstalled Vegas Pro in English (U.S.A.) and it works !

Don't know why French language does this.

Those pesky language issues ... To avoid issues with programs (apps they call it nowadays😀) and OS I prefer to install everything in English. Better tested, more info in English to solve stuff on the web also.

That being said I do have a French AZERTY Logitech gaming keyboard (unfortunately Logitech never made a Belgian style AZERTY - which differs from the French). This gives me heaps of issues in games were keys do not match my keyboard. I always need to remap. But what is worse, APPS and websites do recognize sometimes my keyboard as being French and start communicating in French in mails etc... I can speak French as well, but I prefer to be communicating in English or in my native language Flemish (Belgian flavor of Dutch).

@Nekmao33 I have (almost) the same issue as you with the new update Vegas Pro 21.0 (build 187), in the sense that after the loading of the (arty farty) splash screen, I get a 4 to 5 seconds "white" opening screen as in the screenshot you posted, but then the Vegas UI starts successfully. So maybe just because I have a powerful system, it does not crash or time out, but is still confused about my French keyboard...

Or it could be something language related with:

  • having directories mapped to One drive
  • issues with Vegas HUB

Because I was curious about this, while another French user not complained about this, I uninstalled my English version and installed the French one.
No problem and I saw the same almost white screen during building the UI.
It takes the same (unusual) long time to build it as in my English version, so a little patience is needed.

Installing the program with a different language is only half of the problem.

Have you tested changing your OS language also?

French is my mother tongue. French is what we use in my household and also at work. Despite this, I always install all my SW using english because I have been burnt so many times in the past about incompatibilities due to language. As an example, the , and . separator for numbers is flipped between english and french. Guess how I found out? Yep, my accounting SW all screwed up because of the OS language/locale.

I'm also using the French version, no instant crash but i got some glitches and black screens on the preview when i use the software more than 1 hour on the same project (and it ends in a windows desktop/GPU crash it i don't close/reopen it), i hope it will fixed soon 👍

Did you send a crash report? What was the text so I can search for it.
