What have you done to Vegas PRO build 643?

tactech wrote on 6/22/2022, 5:20 PM

The latest update made everything Very Slowwwwwwww takes over 5 sec to execute any button. I can't even go back to older builds (458) since the project I've worked on is now not compatible with build 458.

OMG why is Vegas getting worst ?

Vegas Pro 19 update 643 loaded without problems and to date I have had no issues. The team of software technicians have obviously been working hard. I am impressed not only with the result but now have confidence that they have got their priorities right, that is fixing the bugs that have been around for quite some time. I remain a Vegas Pro fan, Please keep up the initiatives that you have put in place.

@tactech, Vegas is getting and has gotten a whole lot better !

Contrary to your comments and experience, Vegas Pro build 643 is working well for me and many others. Not noticing any form of slowing down as you have described.

@Steve_Rhoden the 643 build is garbage to me. You are lucky that works for you and I'm happy for ya. Does anyone know how to disable this automatic nagging update notice ? I do not want to be reminded to update to this build ever again.

No change here for good or bad over 550 or 636.

@tactech Can you go to help/driver update and update any GPU drivers if needed? When does the slowness start? Just as soon as you open the program?

There's no way to disable the notification I am aware of.

@tactech - Not my experience. It is immediate.

@tactech - I believe you meant "can't"? Yes? If so TeamVegas need to step in and confirm non-compatibility with previous Builds.

Identical problems to @tactech for me with 643 - timeline actions all very slow and crashed after a minute. Couldn't open previous projects. I tried a clean install and also tried reinstalling GPU driver with no change. I've rolled back to 636 which ironically was very stable and has been the best Vegas version ever for me. 636 working for me again thank goodness, but could do without the 'new version' pop up each time I open it.

System is Ryzen 5900 and AMD 6700 xt. Someone else suggested it was an AMD related issue, no idea if that's the case, but I'll gladly watch for new info or suggestions emerging today. I have lots of projects to deliver to clients today (wedding season in full flow), so I'll have to pick the next upgrade time carefully. Never had upgrade problems like this, so I'm sure it's a one off glitch. I do trust Vegas and think it's a superb editor for my projects, so am puzzled as much as frustrated by this.

I've heard (via facebook groups) that some AMD systems, especially the 6xxx series cards, are having issues using the latest driver from AMD. I cannot confirm this, but it's worth trying rolling back to an older driver if your issues persist.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

@Grazie Yes, Thank you. I meant to say "CAN'T". I've tried build 458 that was no longer compatible with my project and was much happier when I could go with 636. I was really frustrated with this 643 build... hogging my CPU and slowing everything down. The 636 build works with few crashes here and there on my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU.

I just do not like to be reminded every time I start Vegas to update to this faulty 643 build.

@RogerS I have the latest GPU drivers. The slowness starts as soon as the Vegas-B643 is launched with out any project loaded and as you can see from my earlier post I have a decent system I'm working on.
