What on earth is going on with pricing?

I've been sticking with VP15 for now. I was getting the regular "Upgrade for $249" prompts. Last week for a few days, after cancelling that I got an "Upgrade for $199" offer - and I'm pretty sure it said until October 31st.

Whilst this might have suited me, my first thought was for those loyal supporters who'd upgraded early on, AND acted as beta testers for $249. I posted as such on this thread: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/so-which-is-it-249-or-199--112598/#ca695406 but as it's closed, I guess nobody saw it.

This is a despicable way to treat early adopters - you'd have thought they'd have learned their lesson after the ball-up when Magix first took over - offering implied great deals for existing users only to offer upgrades at prices greater than new product/licences.

And now, with 31st Oct still two weeks away, the offer is miraculously withdrawn.

Much as I love Vegas, I feel like I'm watching a wife degenerate into an alcoholic who does nothing but bad mouth me in public and beat me in private.

The Vegas Pro 16 upgrade offers at $199 that I have seen have been for the Vegas Pro 16 Edit version.

The upgrade offers are updated on this page:

I always wonder if they've never heard of the boy who cried wolf? I get the same priced upgrade offers week after week all telling me I only have few days before the offer expires. Then an exact same offer pops up with a another deadline. Not really good business IMO.

Thanks vkmast. I was aware of the $199 for VP Edit and so that was the first thing I checked. Interestingly this morning when i fire up Vegas, I'm getting no prompts to upgrade at all (I have never checked the "don't inform me" box). It saddens me that I don't automatically upgrade Vegas these days, but it seems (a) as the product is pretty mature there are limited features that can me added and (b) each release introduces more "issues" for users than have been fixed in the previous version.
