When adding new clip cursor moves to end

I checked the user guide and forum but couldn't find an answer. When I add a clip to the timeline the cursor automatically goes to the end of the new clip. Is there any setting to prevent this? It requires that I then have to backtrack through the new clip to get to it's beginning. I realize I could add a marker at the end of the previous clip and shortcut back there, but I'd rather that the cursor remain where it is when I add a new clip to an existing project.

It only does that (I'm using VMS 16) if the cursor was already at the end of the last clip when you add the new clip. I'm guessing it assumes you want the cursor to remain at the end. To me that always seemed the right thing to do. But it's easy to move back to the beginning of the current clip. Just select it and press Ctrl-Alt-Left arrow.

Have you tried dragging from Explorer (Auto Ripple off) instead of double-clicking?

Thanks @vkmast. Interesting! Double-clicking the media clip places it in the timeline and always moves the cursor to the end, no matter if Auto Ripple is off or on. But dragging the media clip onto the timeline only moves the cursor to the end if Auto Ripple is on AND the cursor was previously at the end.
